Quintessential Quirk 2009 – CD – a selection of songs from my original live show

I put on my first live show in 2009 and, based on the nickname I had been given by musician friends in Port Douglas (Australia) of the Quirky One (aka the Queen of Quirk) I called it Quintessential Quirk.  This is a selection of 15 songs from that original show, recorded live for posterity.  As always with me, there’s a mixture of moods and emotions here, including some that definitely come under the PG notification!   Nothing too raunchy, though, but a lot of fun, and there are a few beautiful, ‘straight’ songs in there too.  The show was performed at The Clink Theatre in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia, with the first Act initially being me performing solo, vocals and rhythm guitar, then I was joined by  three special guests individually who then all joined me for the final song in the first Act.  I put down my guitar for the second Act and left the hard work to the four professional Band members; I was also ably aided and abetted by the lovely Quirkettes as my backing singers, mostly two of my best pals, with a third joining in on a few of the songs.

It had not been our intention to release a CD of the songs, so the sound system was not set up for ‘professional’ recording, but we had all had such fun that we decided to pull a selection of the songs onto CD to offer for sale initially to those who attended Quintessential Quirk 2010.
